Russia Makes Good On Their Threat To Israel
Plans to liquidate agency office connected with Israel
Back in July 20th, the Daily Beagle wrote about “Russia's Low Key Threat To Israel”, where we highlighted that Russia insinuated that it would give Iran modern fighters and help them build up their air defences, contrary to Israel’s attempts to disarm and stop them from building nukes.
Russia had made the low-key threat to Israel because they were arming Ukrainians with military weapons, and this was Russia’s way of retaliating. Russia had previously fired a single anti-air missile at an Israeli jet back in May, which Israel brushed off as a non-event.
In the Daily Beagle Roundup #12, we reported how Russia were helping Iran get their satellites into space, equipping the Iranians with new tools, giving them a more level playing field with Israel, suggesting they could now spy on Israel.
Well, Russia is striking directly at the jugular now, and Russia is moving to “liquidate” an agency that helps Jewish people leave Russia and move to Israel. The basis for the liquidation was sending confidential information abroad:
The justice ministry wants to shut down the Jewish Agency’s branch in Russia for allegedly sending confidential data about Russian citizens abroad.
This could either mean they sent sensitive, top-secret information abroad, or, it could mean that the emigration information of a Russian citizen applying to move to Israel was sent abroad… to Israel.
Russia aren’t clear on which it is, but this development is pretty surprising, as only now have they opted to hold the agency to account, and it is very likely in retaliation to Israel aiding the Ukrainians in the war.
Russia have the third largest Jewish population in the world, so this is a pretty big development. This comes as Ukrainian Zelensky expels Jewish individuals from his country, as reported in the Daily Beagle Roundup #13, including Korban and Azov-funding Oligarch Kolomoisky, it appears Israel have managed to annoy both countries into retaliatory acts.
