there are quite a few who see this and say, but that is not for me. I am taking the vaccine because it works for ME. And some who say, oh that is another Kennedy admirer (even though I showed the Japanese and Danish studies). These are people who do not want to be convinced they did something harmful to themselves (and forced their friends, or dropped them). They can not give up their wrong think, because then their whole thinking system collapses, and they will realize they poisoned themselves.
There's usually a deep psychological reason for that. The strongest is denial - to admit it's a problem would be to admit they're in danger, and pretending a danger does not exist is more comfortable than acknowledging it does exist.
There's also a pride element - arguably one of the strongest - if they admit they're wrong on the safety of the shots, they have to also admit any behaviours they took (E.G. attacking the unvaccinated, denying them healthcare, dehumanising them) is also wrong, with an angle towards guilt. So for them, denying they're wrong also means they get to deny they've committed any wrongdoing.
Seeing the NHS U-turn on flu shots is major. They have entire campaigns, prize bribes and more within their ranks. Their walls are not impenetrable.
