Previously The Daily Beagle wrote about the History between Ukraine and Russia, where it noted part of the Cossack area was controlled by the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, especially after a war with the Russian empire where the west-side was controlled by the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth after a split.
It also noted a similar split of Ukraine pre-and-during WW2, where Poland controlled the west and Russia controlled the east, before Russia’s counter-attack reunified it.
Well, it turns out history repeats itself, and repeats itself very loudly. The zloty - a unit of currency used by the Polish - has turned up eggs sold in Ukraine as part of prices in Lviv (located on the west-side of Ukraine) - echoing the similar west-east divide.
How many countries do you know have adopted another country’s currency as payment without being first assimilated or annexed by that other country? (The Euro doesn’t count as the EU isn’t a country).
Seems like that west-east split of history old is coming back. Return of the Polish-Lithuania Commonwealth too?
