Germany Likely To Ditch Ukraine Aid Over Gas Fears
Loss of total economy too high a price to pay
Russian government outlet (see description) Intel Slava Z highlighted an article by Bloomberg reporting how the EU were stalling on sending aid to Ukraine:
Intel Slava Z commented:
EU may cut aid to Ukraine amid European rejection of Russian gas
To Russia, this evidently signals a victory, which is not surprising because as The Daily Beagle notes in the articles Understanding the Oil Crisis and Understanding the Impact of Fuel on Food Prices, trying to wage a war of oil and gas when you’re co-dependent upon it is suicidal.
The situation could turn more dire if Russia turns off the taps of the gas flows to Europe.
Well, given Germany already canned Nord Stream 2, and as The Daily Beagle reporting on Intel Slava Z has confirmed that Nord Stream 1 has been switched off, those taps seem to be already off. Mainstream media even tenatively followed suit by admitting ‘yes, the pipes are switched off’.
Money Money Money
It isn’t just gas taps as an issue, as Bloomberg further notes:
It was nearly two months ago when European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen proposed sending 9 billion euros ($9 billion) in emergency loans to Ukraine. So far, the bloc has only managed to agree on an initial tranche that covers a ninth of that target.
The ministers on Tuesday managed to agree only on a 1 billion euro loan for Ukraine as a first tranche of the larger macrofinancial assistance package.
The European Commission also committed in May to finance the bulk of the reconstruction of the country, which could amount to $750 billion
It’s not clear where the money will come from. As The Daily Beagle has noted before, the Euro has been collapsing:
The Euro ‘reaching parity’ with the dollar means whatever sinking boat the US is in, the EU has joined them.
In 2021, the EU reported it was in a whopping debt-to-GDP ratio of 100.5%, a debt far greater than would ever be possible for the EU to ever pay back, an increase from the 92.2% back in 2013.
Debt War
With gas deliveries to the EU failing and with clear signs the German economy - one of the major contributors of the EU - is imploding, this means the EU simply does not have the finances necessary to even try to assist Ukraine in this war.
Looks like there will be no aid for Ukraine.
